The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Western Regional Office (WXRO) sought an environmental consulting firm to provide the BOP WXRO with environmental services to update the SPCC Plans at facilities managed by the BOP across the west, including Dublin and Lompoc, California. BOP sought to have individual facility SPCCs updated per 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) §112. The Rule requires the development and implementation of SPCC Plans for facilities that could reasonably be expected to discharge oil in quantities that may prove harmful to navigable waters of the United States or adjoining shorelines. All SPCC Plans are required to be reviewed and evaluated at least once every five years under 40 CFR §112.5(b). Personnel at the prisons commented that our service was outstanding from conception to completion.
